MANUAL HANDLING

Employers are obliged to ensure that their staff receive regular training in safe manual handling practices.

This course is essential for all employees, not only those whose job involves or may involve lifting heavy, large or awkward items.

• The course lasts 3 hours and covers:
• Common injuries, physiology and the need for training
• How to prevent injuries before they happen – i.e. physical fittness,etc
• Risk assessments for manual handling tasks in general
• Risk assessments specific to individuals workplaces
• Safe handling practices.

Despite the somewhat dry nature of the subject matter, every effort is made to make the course fun!
