FIRST AID COURSES
FAW (First Aid at Work)
An 18 hour course which may be run over 3 consecutive days or a period of weeks, depending on what is convenient for you. This course fulfills the statutory requirements of the HSE and is designed for those who are going to be the nominated First Aider in the workplace. All employers in the UK have a legal obligation to make first aid provision for their employees.
RFAW (Requalification of First Aid at Work)
A 12 hour re-qualification course for holders of a valid FAW certificate. This may be taken 3 months before or up to 28 days after the expiry date. AP (Appointed Persons)
An Appointed Person is someone with basic first aid training who can provide essential care until help arrives. Perfect for small businesses or as a backup for qualified First Aiders. Choose from a basic 4 hour course, or a more comprehensive 6 hour course. AED (Automatic External Defibrillator)
An essential tool in treating unconscious casualties who have suffered a suspected heart attack. Paediatric First Aid
This course is designed for anyone who works with babies and young children. It can be used as evidence towards some NVQ elements and fulfills OFSTED requirements. A 12 hour course which can be run over a period of weeks to suit you. Emergency Aid in Schools
A course designed for those who work in a school setting, trained by an experienced school teacher. This 6 hour course focuses on injuries commonly found in the school environment. Duke of Edinburgh's Award
A course for young people about to take part in expeditions for D of E, Ten Tors, BELA, etc. Dentists
A basic course designed to give guidance on dealing with medical emergencies in dental practises. A 2 hour course, during which your work environment is used as the backdrop for discussion and training, making this course as realistic and relevant as possible. Advice can be given on the use of bag-and-mask, etc. (£50 irrespective of number of students) New Baby
