“In accordance with the new standards set by DfES together with Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK), all existing trainers and teachers working in the publicly-funded sector will have to hold a recognised teaching qualification by December 2010.

In order to support you meet these new standards, the CIEH has worked with LLUK, and gained their endorsement for a new qualification – the Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS).

Alongside the launch of the CIEH PTLLS qualification we are launching the new Level 3 Award in Training Skills and Practice (TSP) qualification to replace the CIEH Professional Trainer Certificate (PTC).”

ENGLISH TUITION

As people from around the world arrive in the UK seeking employment opportunities, their efforts are often hampered by the language barrier.

Employers are nevertheless obliged by law to provide them with training.

How Can A & C Help?

Yvonne Hall, our Director of Training ( for more details please see “about us”), brings her knowledge, experience and enthusiasm as an English teacher to Academic & Commercial Training customers.

Not only does Academic & Commercial Training actively encourage students with limited English to attend our courses, we are uniquely placed to offer dedicated English language tuition to your employees.

Lessons

The lessons can cover a variety of topics, including: Conversational English / Written English (formal and casual) / Customer contact/announcements / Dealing with complaints / Technical jargon (you would need to provide specifics relating to your industry) / Grammar / Colloquialisms / Emergency situations

Cost

What will it cost? Not nearly as much as you may think!!

We will provide English lessons at a flat rate of £30 per hour for groups of up to 6 students.

This price is for tuition received on our premises. We can train on your premises if requested – travelling expenses of 40p per mile will be added to the cost.

Larger groups can be accommodated at extra cost. Please ask for details.
